The Ultimatum: Producer Admits Madlyn’s Pregnancy Was Shocking
Chris Coelen, producer of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, recently revealed that cast member Madlyn Ballatori’s pregnancy was a shock to production. While Nick and Vanessa Lachey host The Ultimatum,Chris is one of the producers. Chris is the founder and CEO of Kinetic Content, which has worked on projects such as Love is Blind, Love Without Borders,and Married at First Sight. Kinetic Content produced The Ultimatumand has already started filming season 2 of the show.
The Ultimatumfollows six couples on their journey to either get married or break up. One person in each couple gave the other an ultimatum of marriage while the other person wasn’t ready for that step in their relationship. The show separated those couples and paired them with other people in a trial marriage, where they lived together for three weeks. Then after that trial marriage, The Ultimatum couples are reunited with their original partner for another three weeks of living together. In the season finale of The Ultimatumone couple broke up, two couples got engaged, and one couple even got married on the spot.

When interviewing with The Hollywood Reporter, Chris said, “it’s pretty shocking to see Madlyn, not having seen Madlyn in a while, and then she’s real pregnant.” Madlyn and Colby Kissinger ended up getting married in the season finale and then announced that they were expecting their first child during the reunion show. Everyone at the finale was stunned by this news, but the cast has been very supportive of Madlyn and Colby since the news broke.
