The Tinder Swindler follows Cecilie Fjellhoy, Pernilla Sjoholm, and Ayleen Charlotte—three strangers with one common denominator: Simon Leviev. Each of them found Simon on Tinder and was wooed by his lavish lifestyle and generosity. Simon took them on private planes, to elegant restaurants, and luxury hotels, projecting a fake identity as the heir to a diamond empire. Once the women trusted him and loved him, he preyed upon them, convincing them their money was the only thing that could save him.

Cecilie, Pernilla, and Ayleen are not Leviev’s only victims either. Before changing his name to Simon Leviev, the subject of The Tinder Swindler had been arrested and fled various countries under various identities, only ever serving five months in prison. However, Leviev has never been convicted or gone to jail for the scams from The Tinder Swindler, nor for the other scams he committed against hundreds of other people amounting to over 10 million dollars. Simon Leviev, the Tinder Swindler, isn’t in jail because, legally, he has committed no crime.
