The latest issue of the official Sonic the Hedgehog comic references It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia - a show not exactly known for its kid-friendly content. This reference comes in the form of one of the covers for issue 64, depicting a popular shitpost from an earlier episode of Always Sunny.
Unsurprisingly, any Sonic fan who gets the reference is loving it - and is even creating more Sonic and Always Sunny crossovers. It definitely seems that this cover will be the most sought-after, immortalising the time Sega greenlighted this incredibly unexpected overlap of interests.

Sonic the Hedgehog issue 64, cover A is the one you'll have to look out for if you want to nab is part of Sonic history. If you're an Always Sunny fan, you'll know it when you see it - it's the one with Silver the Hedgehog acting out the mailroom Charlie/Pepe Silvia meme.
This cover comes to us courtesy of comic artist Jack Lawrence (coloured by Reggie Graham), who was pretty surprised that his take on issue 64 got approved by Sega and IDW. It was a risk, as Lawrence didn't provide any alternate ideas, and instead focussed on getting this one right to better sell it to editorial. But as he explains, "Thankfully, everyone went for it."
Given the risk he took in sending this off, he's incredibly pleased by its positive reception in the fanbase. In fact, it's already inspired fans to create their own Always Sunny and Sonic crossovers, such as this amazing reenactment of the mailroom scene.
