As promised, Supermassive Games revealed the full trailer for its upcoming and newly announced horror game. The trailer showed its extensive list of known actors as well as its release date, which is June 10, 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It’ll be $69.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and $59.99 on the other platforms.
The trailer sets up a bunch of teenage counselors at Hackett’s Quarry, a place that doesn’t seem unlike ‘s Camp Crystal Lake. After the car fails to start on the final day, panic sets in as “blood-drenched locals and something far more sinister” begin hunting the pack.
seems to be calling back to Supermassive’s, as it appears to be a much more ambitious project than its string of games. This also translates to the multiplayer as it supports up to eight players that all can sway the narrative and live or die based on their decisions, which this game is also focused on. There are also many difficulty elements to appeal to people with different levels of skill, which Supermassive has been implementing more and more with each title. There’s also even a Movie Mode that seems to turn the game into a glorified film. It’s unclear how exactly it’ll work, but users can choose how they want the story to play out and then “kick back and munch on some popcorn.”
There’s also a handful of recognizable faces. Supermassive tends to generally grab a few known stars for its games, but has more than one or two faces that players might recognize. The current cast list is:
There is also a deluxe edition, which is $10 more, and it comes with ’80s-themed character outfits, instant access to something called the “Death Rewind” system (likely a mechanic that lets players rewind), a Gorefest
