The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Miki Yoshikawa'sA Couple of Cuckoos manga streamed the second main promotional video for the series on Thursday. The anime is set to premiere on April 23.
Musical group Sangatsu no Phantasia will perform the anime’s ending theme, «Shikaku Unmei». Ikimonogakari vocalist Kiyoe Yoshioka will perform the opening theme song, “Dekoboko”. The series will air on TV Asahi’s NUMAnimation programming block as well as on its affiliate channels.

Miki Yoshikawa’s A Couple of Cuckoos began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine in January 2020. The series has amassed 10 volumes throughout its run so far. Yoshikawa is best known for her Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches manga series, which ran in Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 2012-2017. The series inspired an 8-episode television drama in 2013, followed by a 12-episode anime adaptation animated by Liden Films in 2015.
Shin-Ei Animation and SynergySP will animate the series, with Hiroaki Akagi (Teasing Master Takagi-san, Combatants Will Be Dispatched!) serving as chief director and Yoshiyuki Shirahata (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle, Diary of Our Days at the Breakwater) directing. Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Digimon Adventure tri: Loss) will serve as scriptwriter, with character designs by Aya Takano (Himouto! Umaru-chan, Teasing Master Takagi-san).
