Blizzard has been teasing the collaboration between Overwatch 2 and World of Warcraft and now the event is here.
From now through the end of the month, you'll be able to earn several World of Warcraft themed skins, voice lines, emotes, and cosmetics for several key characters. Widowmaker gets a Sylvanas Windrunner skin and Reinhardt will become the Lich King. Representing the major factions, Zenyatta gets a Thrall skin, and Torbjorn will be Diamond Magni Bronzebeard.
When you use the event skins, each of them has a custom Play of the Game cinematic. Lich King Reinhardt wields the sword Frostmourne, of course, and his PoTG cinematic features a custom Lich King cinematic. The others are yours to discover when you collect these special cosmetics.
Additional rewards that include charms, sprays, name cards, and icons. Some of the emotes are inspired by classic World of Warcraft quest givers. All of the collaboration rewards are available to earn. You can get up to 10 free rewards during the event, which ends on September 30th.
There is a Mega bundle in the shop that contains all of the skins and cosmetics from this collaboration, so if you're looking to make sure you don't miss out on any of them, that's also an option.
It is World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary, and the latest expansion, The War Within, brings back Legacy characters and introduces new ones. Overwatch 2 is also celebrating its second anniversary this month and is in the midst of a celebration. This WoW collaboration fits in with all of the celebratory events going on for both games.
