Epic and Sony could be collaborating as leakers suggest that skins based off on Naughty Dog's The Last of Us could be heading to Fortnite. These Fortnite Last Of Us skins could be dropping into the battle royale around the time that The Last of Us Part 1 Remake launches, which is in September, or around the time the HBO show releases.
It wouldn't be unheard of since Epic and Naughty Dog have previously crossed over with Uncharted skins for Fortnite, so players can look forward to getting resemblances to Ellie and Joel as they try to survive the royale gauntlet. It's kind of apt considering the pair were trying to survive against sort-of similar odds among the infected and humans turned evil by the apocalypse.

In the most recent XboxEra podcast host Nick Baker said that he heard a Fortnite and The Last of Us crossover would "coincide with either the game remake or the show" (via PCGamesN). The remade game is due for September for the PlayStation 5, while the HBO series is releasing early next year.
In addition, the reputable Fortnite leaker Shiina has backed up Baker's claim and said they had "also heard about this collaboration independently."
So it seems pretty likely that Joel and Ellie could be running around the Fortnite map alongside the likes of LeBron James, Moon Knight, Darth Vader, Gaara & Hinata, Orochimaru, Among Us, Mighty Thor, Thor Odinson, Indiana Jones, Spider-Man Zero, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Robocop, Phaedra, Scarlet Witch, Zuri, Blanka, Eivor Varinsdottir, Chloe Kim, Mary Jane Watson, among many, many others.
Meanwhile, Naughty Dog has said that The Last of Us Part 1's gameplay improvements are to be mostly AI based.
