The Last of Us is set to make its return. The Last of Us HBO show is set to launch sometime in the near future, and Naughty Dog has gone back to the drawing board and is releasing a full remake of the first game titled The Last of Us Part 1. In a new post, Sony and Naughty Dog have detailed what makes this remake so special when it launches in September.
The announcement comes hours after gameplay of Naughty Dog's remake made the rounds earlier from XboxEra co-founder, Nick Baker. Baker shared clips that covered various aspects of the game from its two graphics modes, gameplay of combat and crafting as well as different accessibly features and control settings. After the clips caught plenty of attention, Baker removed them, which in turn let Naughty Dog take the time to put together its own official breakdown.

The trailer Naughty Dog released features ten minutes of feedback and explanations from various members of Naughty Dog. Co-president Neil Druckmann opens up by mentioning the team was excited about the idea of making The Last of Us Part 1 while creating the flashback scenes of the first game within The Last of Us 2. Given the impressive state of the sequel, the team proposed the possibility of remaking the first game to match the original vision Naughty Dog had that technology would not allow for back in 2013.
The rest of the trailer goes on to detail how Naughty Dog is looking to use the full power of the PS5 to «reimagine» The Last of Us.
