Gamescom is currently ongoing, but with its kickoff showcase, Gamescom Opening Night Live, now behind us, new details are emerging on another upcoming major event for the year. Specifically, producer, host, and creator Geoff Keighley has shared information on this year’s The Game Awards.
Specifically, it’s been confirmed that The Game Awards will return on December 12, which is a Thursday. The showcase will be The Game Awards’ 10th anniversary, so we can likely expect something special planned. Each year of The Game Awards also brings plenty of new announcements and reveals in addition to the actual awards and accolades themselves, so we can likely expect plenty more of that in the pipeline as well.
Additionally, as is the case every year, game released before a November cutoff date will not be eligible for this year’s awards. While that date has yet to be revealed, it’s safe to assume that something like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which is due out in December, won’t be eligible for any nominations until next year.
