The Game Awards returns on December 7th, presenting a bevvy of reveals, new game announcements and much more. During a live Q&A stream on Twitch, producer and host Geoff Keighley confirmed that it would run for two-and-a-half to three hours, roughly similar to last year’s show.
Fans can look forward to announcements of more presenters this week, though Keighley wants to save some of the surprises. When asked to rate the announcements on a scale of 1-10 of how big they are, Keighley said it’s “hard to say” while adding, “I’m feeling really good about what we’re doing this year. I think we have a lot of cool stuff…new games, new teams, new worlds you’re gonna see.”
It lines up with reports from GiantBomb’s Jeff Grubb, who said there would be “a lot of new IP and cool stuff from third parties.” Of course, there will be triple-A announcements, though which games will appear remains to be seen.
Baldur’s Gate 3 and Warframe will appear, with a new trailer for Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding 2 seemingly teased. Sega is hyping a mysterious announcement, while Level Infinite (publisher of Tower of Fantasy) and Sharkmob of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt fame have a new project to announce. Something is also seemingly on the cards forInscryption developer Daniel Mullins Games.
The Game Awards 2023 goes live on December 7th at 4:30 PM PST. Stay tuned for more announcements in the meantime.
