Next week’s free Epic Games Store title has not been revealed as usual, with Epic instead saying it will be a “mystery game.”
It will be free to claim from Epic’s PC marketplace from May 18 for an unspecified amount of time.
According to highly reliable dataminer billbil-kun, Epic is planning to give away eight titles (two per week) during its Epic Mega Sale, which will reportedly begin on May 18 and run until June 15.
Next week’s mystery game will replace The Sims 4 The Daring Lifestyle Bundle, which is now free to claim until May 18.
The bundle contains three expansion packs for EA’s life simulation game: Jungle Adventure Game Pack, Luxury Party Stuff Pack, and Fashion Street Kit.
Purchased separately from EA, the three packs would normally cost about $35 / £32 in total.
The Epic Games Store gave away 99 free titles last year (up from 89 in 2021). These games had a combined worth of $2,240 and users claimed over 700 million free titles (down from 765 million in 2021), according to Epic.
The company recently suggested players should expect to see further high-profile Epic Games Store exclusives announced in the future.
Epic Games announced last month that it is to acquire Brazil-based Horizon Chase and Wonderbox studio Aquiris for an undisclosed sum.
The Aquiris team will be the foundation of the company’s first Latin America studio, Epic Games Brasil, which will work on the Fortnite series.
