The Elder Scrolls VI is setting out to be a game like very few others, judging from a recent statement from Bethesda's Todd Howard.
Asked by GQ about the next entry in the series, Todd Howard revealed how the team wants it to fill the role of the ultimate fantasy world simulator. Obviously, how the game will achieve it hasn't been specified, but Howard added how there are different ways to accomplish this given how much time passed since the game's announcement five years ago.
Speaking about The Elder Scrolls VI's announcement, Todd Howard was asked if he regretted announcing the game too early. “I have asked myself that a lot,” he said. “I don’t know. I probably would’ve announced it more casually.”
Having been focused on the development of Starfield, it is no surprise that a release window for The Elder Scrolls VI has yet to be announced. The last game that Todd Howard is likely to direct is apparently targeting a 2026 release window, which sounds a little unreasonable, considering it was previously stated that the sixth main entry in the series is at least five years away. Outside of being in development, very little is currently known about the game, which is rumored to be set in Hammerfell.
The Elder Scrolls VI launches on a yet-to-be-confirmed release date. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more come in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
