The first demo presentation for Tom Clancy's The Division is one of the most memorable E3 trailers of all time. Showcasing some seriously impressive physics, that first trailer may not have been totally representative of the final product, but it did get fans hyped for The Division, and in the end, it turned out to be a pretty strong game regardless. Though PvPvE games are becoming increasingly popular, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 possibly having a PvPvE mode according to leaks, in 2016 that wasn't the case. As such, The Division felt like a breath of fresh air in a crowded military shooter market. Eventually, The Division spawned a sequel, and now, six years after the first game's release, a mobile spin-off called The Division Resurgence has been announced.
Revealed a week ago, at the beginning of July, The Division Resurgence is a free-to-play title heading to both Android and iOS devices. Though The Division Resurgence's story will be separate from the previous entries in the series, Ubisoft has hinted that Resurgence may cross over with the rest of the series in certain aspects such as characters, plot points, and settings. On top of some returning narrative elements, The Division Resurgence is also bringing its own additions to the franchise, including a brand-new faction called the Freemen.
