Post-apocalypse settings are all the rage, and Ubisoft capitalized on that with Tom Clancy's The Division in 2016. The game introduced a world that had been ravaged by a pandemic, and put players in control of special agents who had been activated to take back control of Manhattan. The sequel then brought agents to Washington D.C. The upcoming Division mobile title will also be taking place in these locales, and will further expand the events of the mainline titles.
Tom Clancy's The Division has built up an interesting version of the United States that will likely be explored further in a third entry. However, there is so much more to the world than a couple of cities in the United States. This pandemic affected other parts of the planet, and Ubisoft's series should explore just what that looks like.

The Division introduced players to a Manhattan that had been decimated by a viral pandemic known as The Dollar Flu. This disease spread through New York City on Black Friday and threw the city into shambles. The US quickly put its major cities under quarantine, and sleeper agents that work for The Division were activated to restore order. In Manhattan, these agents learned more about this pandemic and discovered a plot to decimate the human race.
The second Division game brought agents to Washington D.C. where they set up shop in the White House and embarked across the city to beat back gangs that had overtaken the streets. The story further expanded the world of The Division and answered more questions about the pandemic. It even had the players return to New York City in the «Warlords of New York» expansion that followed the events of the two games.
