The DioField Chronicle, the tactical role-playing game developed by Lancarse and published by Square Enix launched last year on PC and consoles, has finally received its first major update, which introduces more content to the game and more.
Update 1.20, which is now live on all formats, brings plenty of new content to the game, such as new story content starring Waltaquin Redditch. In the new story segments, players can experience the story from her perspective from joining the Blue Fox up to Chapter 5. New events have also been added, which present Waltaquin's thoughts as an option for the player.
The new The DioField Chronicle update also brings plenty of new gameplay content, such as new missions, a new powerful Behemoth boss, new equipment and skills, such as the new Magic Tome equipment and Necrotiem skill, a new Very Hard difficulty mode and an extra mode where the difficulty is balanced around the completion of the main game. You can head over here for the full update notes.
The DioField Chronicle is an interesting tactical role-playing game which combines real-time and turn-based elements. While the game is serviceable enough, some of its features and a lack of polish hold it back somewhat, as highlighted by Chris in his review.
The DioField Chronicle is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch worldwide. The new update is now live on all formats.
