Peacemaker recently confirmed that a classic DC Comics superhero is now part of the DCEU, and he happens to be capable of defeating even Superman. Peacemaker, the DCEU’s first TV show, has acknowledged some elements of DC Comics history that could be obscure to many viewers, including two lighthearted characters from the Silver Age of comic books. This includes the interdimensional imp (and Batman super-fan) Bat-Mite and the alien member of The Legion of Super-Heroes, Matter-Eater Lad, who is one of the few beings who could conceivably defeat Superman.
Peacemaker episode 4, “The Choad Less Traveled” includes a direct reference to the classic Legion of Super-Heroes member Matter-Eater Lad. When discussing some of his stranger missions, Peacemaker mentions that he worked with Matter-Eater Lad before, acknowledging that the hero could eat anything, making Smith redefine what he saw as normal. According to Smith, Matter-Eater Lad ate an entire restaurant when he ran out of patience waiting for his food, and while this might sound silly, Matter-Eater Lad’s superhuman ability to eat and digest anything is makes this technically possible.

Matter-Eater Lad's unique abilities make him one of the rare few capable of defeating the DCEU's most powerful hero, Superman.
