Paramount Pictures has released a new trailer for their upcoming action-thriller, The Contractor, starring Star Trek's Chris Pine as a recently discharged U.S Special Forces Sergeant who is forced to join a covert military group in order to support his family. After questioning the motives and identity of his shadowy new employers, Sergeant Harper (Pine) survives an assassination attempt and is forced to go on the run. Plunged into a fight for survival, Harper must unravel a dangerous conspiracy as he attempts to return home to his family.
Now, Paramount Movies has released a trailer for the upcoming film.Produced by Thunder Road Films, who are also responsible for the John Wick series, The Contractor looks like an adrenaline pumping thrill-ride filled with intrigue and high-octane action set pieces. The trailer evokes a similar tone to the Jason Bourne saga. It features a number of exciting moments, including Sergeant Harper’s suspicious first assignment for the shadowy military organization and what appears to be an extended fight sequence in a sewer. Ben Foster plays Harper’s best friend who recruits him into the sinister military group while Kiefer Sutherland plays his commanding officer. Watch the trailer below:

The Contractor also stars Gillian Jacobs, Eddie Marsan and Florian Munteanu. It is the English-language film debut of Swedish director Tarik Saleh, who previously worked on the TV shows Westworld and Ray Donovan. The film is set to be released digitally and in theaters on April 1 after being delayed from its original release date of March 18.
