Peacock's upcoming comedy thriller The Resort has a new addition in Nick Offerman. Offerman has made a career of memorable supporting performances, best known for playing curmudgeonly mentor Ron Swanson on all seven seasons of NBC's Parks & Recreation, as well as prominent roles in FX shows Devs, and Fargo, Hulu's recent Pam & Tammy, and the NBC crafting competition Making It, which he co-hosts with Parks and Rec star Amy Poehler. He's also set to co-star as Bill in HBO's upcoming adaptation of The Last of Us.
Variety reports on Offerman's casting, describing The Resort as a generation-spanning romance masquerading as a fast-paced mystery about "the disappointment of time." The show is being run by Palm Springs scribe Andy Siara, who also co-writes alongside Mr. Robot and Homecoming'sSam Esmail. The plot centers around a pair of married teachers, Noah and Emma, on an anniversary trip in the Mayan Riviera when they become entangled in a strange unsolved mystery from 15 years in the past that puts their bond through an emotional gauntlet. Offerman will be playing Murray Thompson, another guest at the titular resort.

The central couple will be played by the previously announced William Jackson Harper and Cristin Milioti. The recurring cast includes Skyler Gisondo (Booksmart), Parvesh Cheena (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Debby Ryan (Insatiable), Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 3), Luis Gerardo Mendez (Narcos: Mexico), and Ben Sinclair (High Maintenance).
