A recent Elden Ring patch brought balance changes to certain overpowered skills, leading to an awkward moment for one hapless invader. FromSoftware's beloved fantasy game includes unique multiplayer mechanics, allowing players to encounter other gamers for jolly cooperation or fierce duels. The recent Elden Ring v1.03 update patch brought numerous balance changes, and several exciting new additions, to the open-world experience.
In response to fan requests, FromSoftware has updated Elden Ring with several nerfs, buffs and quality-of-life adjustments. Patch 1.03 lets Tarnished adventurers mark non-player characters on their map, making it much easier to follow specific questlines. More summoning opportunities, and an entirely new NPC named Jar-Bairn, have also been added. For balance purposes the Elden Ring patch increased the effectiveness of several weapons, including shields, cracked pot items and sorceries. Powerful skills and Weapon Arts, like Hoarfrost Stomp and Bloody Slash, have been nerfed alongside the popular Mimic Tear Ash. However, Elden Ring's Flask of Wondrous Physick and its ability to make players explode to dominate PvP has thankfully been left untouched.

Patch 1.03 also fixed an extremely powerful Elden Ring exploit, and Reddit user Particular-Variety86 witnessed an invader realize this fact too late. The Fire's Deadly Sin incantation, when paired with the Eclipse Shotel sword, would previously spread the devastating Death ailment to enemies in a wide area.
