It's been a full year of TailsTube, Tails' very own YouTube show on which the Sonic sidekick has answered all sorts of burning questions we've had for the last three decades. On the latest edition of the show, Tails and his guest Amy answered another of those questions, confirming that Sonic is technically homeless, although they made it sound like it's not that big a deal.
Tails and Amy fielded a number of questions from Sonic fans including one asking where exactly the blue blur lives. “I don't think Sonic has a home. I think he just travels the world non-stop and camps out whenever he needs to take a break,” Amy replied. Tails added that Sonic crashes at his lab a lot, claiming that's why he's always stocked up on cans of chili and hot dogs.

That Sonic doesn't have a home certainly lines up with the canon of the games. More than 30 years of speeding around his world and I can't recall one time Sonic popped home to check in and fuel up. Now we know the reason for that is because he has no home. Sonic's movie universe is a little different as he now lives with Donut Lord, although he technically lived in a hole in the ground in the woods before that.
