The Winchesters' relationship with Supernatural canon might be even looser than originally thought. After 15 seasons of brotherly bickering, Supernatural came to an end in 2020, but the franchise didn't remain dormant for long. Less than a year later, Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester actor) confirmed a prequel project centered around his character's parents, John and Mary, was in development. In our latest The Winchesters update, Drake Rodger has been cast as John, while Meg Donnelly will play Mary. New character synopses have also surfaced, revealing John is recently returned from Vietnam when the new narrative begins, while Mary is 19-years-old. The more we learn about The Winchesters, however, the further its story drifts from Supernaturals history books.
