Warning: Spoilers for Superman & Lois season 2, episode 12
Superman & Lois season 2 has set up the perfect solution to its problem with Tal-Rho, who hasn’t had a clear place on the show since season 1 ended. Following his defeat at the hands of Superman, Tal-Rho has only made sporadic appearances in the Arrowverse series. Typically, he only shows up when Clark needs his counsel.
Tal-Rho was the show’s main villain in season 1, but his role has since changed tremendously. Now, it seems he wants to be an ally of sorts to Tyler Hoechlin's Superman and his family. But even though his apparent interest in having a family feels sincere, his actions in season 1 stand in the way of Superman & Lois turning him into an Arrowverse superhero who can fight side-by-side with the Man of Steel on a regular basis. As Clark has often reiterated, letting his brother off the hook for his crimes is out of the question. Naturally, this situation limits the Arrowverse’s storytelling potential with Tal-Rho. It already used him as a villain, and his attempt to eradicate humanity makes a redemption arc hard to pull off.
