Director James Gunn shares a behind-the-scenes shot from The Suicide Squad of Ratcatcher 2 actor Daniela Melchior holding a live rat for World Rat Day. Melchior played one of the newest members of the DC Comics superpowered team in Gunn's 2021 movie. She starred alongside Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, John Cena, David Dastmalchian, and Joel Kinnaman.
The daughter of the deceased previous Ratcatcher (Taika Waititi), Melchior's Cleo Cazo is a thief who finds herself inducted into the latest iteration of Task Force X after she is confined to Belle Reve prison. While the team sports heated rivalries, wild-cards, and individuals with their own agendas, Cazo becomes the heart of the group, striking positive relationships with the rest of the characters, from Bloodsport (Elba) to even King Shark (Sylvester Stallone). While the character survived the Corto Maltese mission and bought her freedom alongside the other survivors, Melchior is unsure of Ratcatcher 2's future in DC projects beyond The Suicide Squad.

Taking to his personal Instagram, Gunn shares a new photo of Melchior during the filming of The Suicide Squad's Belle Reve prison scenes. In the image, Melchior is dressed in Ratcatcher 2's prison outfit, holding the rat who portrayed constant animal companion Sebastian (voiced by Dee Bradley Baker) in the palm of her hand, complete with his red and yellow harness. Gunn posts the photo in celebration of World Rat Day, uploading the post with the caption "Happy #WorldRatDay." Check out Gunn's post below:
