Rocksteady Studios and WB Games finally debuted some new gameplay and details for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which is still launching on February 2nd, 2024. The first episode ofSuicide Squad Insider is live and confirms rumors that Metropolis is twice the size of Gotham City from Batman: Arkham Knight.
It’s described as “big, loud and a battlefield” and designed for “mobility and verticality” with a day/night cycle showcased. The co-op element remains, but you can still play solo. Interestingly, Rocksteady says players can switch characters “between missions” instead of in the middle of one.
Eventually, we get to see an early part of the story, with Amanda Waller, director of ARGUS and the person who started the Suicide Squad, sending the team to Metropolis. They emerge in the Hall of Justice and wander around, taking some of the heroes’ equipment, including a jetpack, the Speed Force Gauntlet and Batman’s grappling hook.
After exiting the museum, the squad meets Brainiac and his invading forces. They must battle the corrupted citizens of Metropolis, and it’s here that third-person combat comes into play. Of course, eventually, Green Lantern shows up to capture them, and things take off from there.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Stay tuned for more details.
