The study describes these as the «most confusing» video games that people are playing this year, though that may be a misnomer. After all, a gamer looking up information a guide or walkthrough for a video game doesn't necessarily mean the game is confusing; it could simply mean that one is looking for new strategies, help finding collectibles, or whatever else.

Regardless, the data showed that FromSoftware's Elden Ring was the «most confusing» game, and by a considerable margin with 171,840 searches. It makes sense that people would be looking up guides and walkthroughs for Elden Ring, as it's one of the most challenging games available today. Not only that, but Elden Ring is currently the best-selling game of 2022, so it's possible more people are playing it than the other games in contention.
Rounding out the top 10 are Metroid Dread, Resident Evil Village, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Fall Guys, Fortnite, Luigi's Mansion 3, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Deathloop.
