A team of developers has released a concept trailer for an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the open-world action-adventure game Scarface: The World Is Yours. The brief trailer showcases how the developers were able to use Unreal Engine 5 to reimagine the now 16-year-old game.
Released in 2006 for PC and consoles, Scarface: The World Is Yours serves as a sequel to the classic 1983 crime film Scarface from director Brian De Palma. The game allowed players to step into the shoes of the character whose poster has graced countless dorm room walls, taking control of Tony Montana as he attempts to rebuild his drug empire and once again become the kingpin of Miami after miraculously surviving the shootout at the end of the film.

Released on YouTube by TeaserPlay, a team of graphic designers who also recently showed off a concept trailer for an Unreal Engine 5 remake of Half-Life 2, the Scarface: The World Is Yours concept trailer shows off some impressive environmental shots of the game’s Miami setting along with a highly detailed character model for Al Pacino’s Tony Montana. Pacino had licensed his likeness to the developers of Scarface: The World Is Yours when it was originally released, with the game doing a generally good job of capturing his appearance at the time, but the level of detail on display in the concept trailer is truly next-gen. Created using Unreal Engine 5’s MetaHuman character creation system, TeaserPlay’s version of Tony Montana looks nearly identical to Pacino as he appeared in the 1983 film, right down to the character’s trademark scar running down his face.
