Notably, the countdown on Capcom's official website hints that a reveal of some kind will go live this weekend, though the specifics remain under lock and key. It could be considered wishful thinking, but Street Fighter news wouldn't come as too much of a surprise given recent events with the fifth numbered entry.
As many a fan will recall, Street Fighter V received its final DLC character in November 2021. Luke marked the newcomer in question, arriving with fresh combat mechanics that differed from his counterparts on the latest Street Fighter roster. As such, fans and pundits alike began to wonder whether changes to the formula for Luke served as a tease of what the sixth mainline entry could entail. That much presently remains a mystery, of course, especially since Capcom has yet to so much as offer an official hint about a possible Street Fighter 6. Perhaps that will change in the not-so-distant future, though.
