Netflix is heralding the arrival of Stranger Things season 4 with a massive marketing campaign that includes lighting up the side of the Empire State Building to entice viewers. The streaming platform's flagship show last season premiered in 2019, leaving fans clamoring for more as a series of questions were left unanswered. Three years later, after a number of pandemic-related delays, season 4 is here and is Netflix's biggest season of the show yet, featuring movie-length episodes by the Duffer Brothers, new locations, and a terrifying protagonist.
As their cornerstone property, Netflix has gone to great lengths to establish Stranger Things season 4 as the essential viewing experience of the year. From interviews with the cast promoting the season as its darkest yet, to the emphasis on its massive runtime, to releasing fun behind-the-scenes videos, Stranger Things season 4 is pulling out all the stops to get audiences' attention. Somebody has even risked the show's secrecy by approving a spoiler-heavy Monopoly tie-in.

The villainous Vecna, the Demogorgon, and the portal to the Upside Down are featured very prominently, along with some short inserts of the main characters like Eleven and Hopper.
