A brand-new Star Trek Online update, titled Stormfall, will assemble characters from across the sci-fi franchise for an adventure into the Mirror Universe. Cryptic Studios' massively multiplayer online role-playing game, released back in 2010, lets players captain their own Star Fleet ship and boldly go where no man has gone before. The Star Trek: Discovery cast played Dungeons & Dragonsat an event last year, but two of the show's stars will now appear in Star Trek Online alongside other franchise veterans.
Star Trek Online immerses fans in the final frontier of space through both interstellar combat and on-foot exploration. The game lets each player customize a character, ranging from a Star Fleet captain to a Romulan warrior, and use their starship to travel through the vast reaches of space and face foes like the cybernetic Borg. Space combat in Star Trek Online is slow and methodical, forcing players to plan out the encounter and outmaneuver their opponent, while trips to a planet's surface involve fast-paced third-person shooter gameplay. The MMORPG also receives new content frequently, with a Star Trek Online update adding Discovery content like new episodes, characters and settings after the second season finale in 2019.

The recently-announced Star Trek Online: Stormfall update will let players team up with Star Trek: Voyager's Admiral Janeway, Deep Space Nine's Admiral Leeta and Discovery's Ryn. Two new episodes will see beloved Star Trek actors return and take fans into the Mirror Universe, which is populated by dark reflections of the franchise's various characters. The player will join Janeway, Leeta and Ryn as they fight back
