Sony San Diego Studio has released a new update for its multiplatform baseball sim MLB The Show 22, which fixes more than a few issues the game has been having across PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. The development team will be hoping that the MLB The Show 22 1.03 update hits a homer with the bug fixes and improvements it has made.
Upon its release, we claimed in our 7/10 review that “there are glitches that need to be fixed” in MLB The Show 22. Fast-forward to today and Sony San Diego Studio has alleviated some of the problems its baseball game has been facing. You should, for example, see that players are listed in the correct teams and the correct team logos are being used. Graphical hiccups such as those take you right out of the experience, so it’s good they have been addressed.
Plenty of gameplay issues have been ironed out with the new update, too. You should now be told in-game when your pitcher has become tired, with the game now telling you when they’ve reached 25% energy. In co-op, you should no longer become stuck on specific screens when your teammate or opponent quits before a game begins. Over 400 new player images have been added to Franchise/MTO modes, as well as on jumbotron screens in stadiums. Over 600 new player images, too have been added to Diamond Dynasty and more.
The new MLB The Show 22 update brings plenty of fixes to the mound, check out the complete list of patch notes below, courtesy of the game’s official site.
