It's opening day in Major League Baseball, and San Diego Studio and MLB The Show 22 is fully embracing the return of cracking bats with a special announcement. One day after launch, MLB The Show 22 had its first content update and then followed it up with a new feature that will last throughout the entire baseball season.
The new Supercharged event will take existing cards and give them a significant boost to individual stats as well as an overall rating. Fans of MLB The Show 22 will need to be on the lookout for which players stand out every night, as one player from each game will receive a Supercharged boost.
MLB The Show 22 Confirms Fixes for Launch Day Problems Are in the Works
San Diego Studio will be working closely with MLB to determine which players are deserving of the Supercharged boost, basing its decisions on individual performances and impressive stat lines. The new feature will be exclusive to MLB The Show 22's Diamond Dynasty, and it does come with the caveat that the boost will only last 48 hours. To demonstrate what the feature will look like, Tampa Bay Rays center-fielder Brett Phillips went from a 73-overall to an 81-overall while receiving +30 attribute boosts to his Contact and Power ratings when facing right-handed pitchers, along with another +30 to his Clutch attribute.
On opening day, six players in total became part of the inaugural Supercharged group and received upgrades to their original cards.
