True to multiple recent leaks, Sony has, at long last, officially announced a State of Play presentation for this week. The PlayStation-focused event will arrive tomorrow, Thursday, at 3 PM Pacific, and feature updates on 14 PS5 and PS VR2 games across a runtime of over 30 minutes. As per Sony, that will also include information on upcoming first-party titles that are coming later this year.
If recent leaks are to be believed, it’s quite likely that Sony will be announcing a new Astro Bot game, which is allegedly due out for PS5 (not PS VR2) sometime later this year. Additionally, the company is allegedly also preparing an update for upcoming sci-fi PvP shooter Concord, which it recently reiterated was also targeting a release at some point in 2024.
As for what third-party titles could be included, that remains to be seen. Past leaks had claimed that Silent Hill 2 and Resident Evil 9 would be shown off, but they’re both now looking unlikely for the State of Play, thanks to a Silent Hill Transmission being set for the same day, and recent reports claiming that the next Resident Evil won’t be announced this summer.
