Little is officially known about Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, and what is public knowledge now was previously leaked before its actual reveal. For example, the release window stated in Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s cinematic teaser confirmed that it is currently planned to release in 2023. One of Jeff Grubb’s leaks about it suggested the same, and that fans could expect it to launch as early as February or March of next year.
Further, Grubb leaked what is now Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s official title. On paper, the subtitle “Survivor” is obviously less memorable or unique than “Fallen Order,” and it does not seem to suggest anything out of the ordinary about protagonist Cal Kestis and his crew. However, because of how simple it is, it may also be masking several connotations that could be read into in an attempt to decipher what it truly means. Therefore, the “survivor” could refer to Cal, another Jedi, or many individuals altogether, and that makes it much more interesting to parse.

If Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s subtitle is only meant to refer to Cal, then it seems like a fairly insipid subtitle. Cal is of course a survivor of the Jedi Purge and a Padawan whose Master was killed. Cal is forced to hide among individuals who are not Force-sensitive and evade the Inquisitors, who are actively hunting any remaining Jedi.
It is then unlikely that it refers only to Cal, but he could be part of a collective of survivors who it is referring to plurally. Likewise, there could be another tragic circumstance that befalls Cal and his friends, and perhaps Cal could be the sole survivor of that in the sequel.
