The Star Wars creative team gives a clue of when Ahsoka's release date will be shortly after production kicked off on the upcoming series. Ahsoka Tano first debut in the sci-fi franchise with the 2008 animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars and its sequel series as a Padawan of Anakin Skywalker before his fall to the Sith. Tano would go on to appear in Star Wars Rebels with Ashley Eckstein carrying on her role while Rosario Dawson would give Ahsoka her live-action debut with The Mandalorian season 2.
After making an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett, Dawson is set to lead fellow Mandalorian spinoff Ahsoka as the Jedi sets off in pursuit of Grand Admiral Thrawn after the events of Star Wars Rebels. Alongside Dawson, the cast for the new series will see the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin as well as the franchise debuts of Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Rebels' Sabine Wren, Ray Stevenson as an undisclosed villainous admiral and Ivanna Sakhno and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in undisclosed roles. Ahsoka is again being developed by Mandalorian duo Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, the latter of whom created the titular heroine with George Lucas and is writing the new series and directing an unknown number of episodes.
