Ahsoka has been previously seen in the Star Wars animated shows The Clone Wars and Rebels.
Little is currently known about the plot details of Ahsoka, with the character's appearance in The Mandalorian hinting that she's continuing her search for Grand Admiral Thrawn, a hunt that was talked about in Rebels. She was last seen in The Book of Boba Fett giving Luke Skywalker advice on training Grogu before leaving the planet, presumably continuing her search. Given that production just started for Ahsoka, it's expected to hit Disney+ sometime next year.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Dawson talks about the comparison to Gandalf, with Gandalf transforming from Gandalf the Gray to Gandalf the White throughout the series to show his growth in wisdom. The implication is that Ahsoka will undergo a similar growth, having been clad in dark colors in her live-action appearances, but is seen wearing a white cloak at the end of Rebels, signifying a change.
