Disney reveals Andor's release date has been delayed by one month, as the new Star Wars show moves to September. The era of Lucasfilm making live-action shows set in the galaxy far, far away kicked off with the launch of Disney+ in 2019. Two seasons of The Mandalorian and one for The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi have so far been released to quite a lot of success. The next show is Andor, a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story starring Diego Luna as the future Rebel who helps steal the plans to the Death Star.
With a twelve-episode first season and a second season already announced, anticipation is high for Andor. The series features the return of Mon Mothma (Genevieve O'Reilly) and Saw Gerrera (Forest Whitaker). Still, its cast includes some significant additions like Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Fiona Shaw. Thanks to an excellent first Andor trailer, interest in the series grew online. The release of the second Andor trailer should only continue to ramp up anticipation, even though audiences now have to wait longer to see Diego Luna's Star Wars show.
