Ever since the game was released on PC, modders have been having a field day doing some crazy things with the title. Many of the mods that have been made for the game are usually cosmetic, where players can suddenly play with a different suit from the character's history or someone else altogether, like Kermit the Frog, for example. This recent mod, however, shifts perspective, turning the once third-person game into a first-person adventure.
When players don the mask as the wall-crawler, the game takes place primarily from the third-person perspective. Usually, this helps give players a good look at where they are going and gives them spatial awareness during things like swinging around NYC or fighting criminals. With a shift to a first-person view, this gives players an idea of what Spider-Man sees and gives them a VR-like Spider-Man web-swinging simulator.
