While everyone is pumped to see the return of the Spider-Men in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, they should never forget the men behind the masks. Peter Parker and Miles Morales have come a long way in their respective games, both as superheroes and as people. Hopefully what they have learned in the past will help them combat whatever new threats await them in the upcoming sequel.
One of the biggest challenges Peter Parker will have to face in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 isn't a supervillain, but rather his lack of proper employment. His previous tenure as Otto Octavious's lab assistant didn't go so well and now he is caught in between jobs. But seeing as he did a good job serving as Miles Morales' mentor, it wouldn't be such a bad idea if Peter took a more active role in others' educations.

Defeating Doctor Octopus may have saved the city of New York, but it cost Peter Parker his job. He was already having trouble paying his rent in Marvel's Spider-Man, but now the lack of financial sources has pushed Peter to the brink of poverty. At this point in his life, Peter has already left his full-time job at the Daily Bugle. The rants of J. Jonah Jameson against Spider-Man proved too much for the young adult, and he sought employment elsewhere.
Thankfully Jameson has retired from the Bugle by the events of the first game and has now taken up a more modern occupation as a podcaster. This prompts Peter to take a part-time position as a photographer for the Bugle and helps Mary Jane Watson as she covers an ongoing story in Symkaria.
