Sons of the Forest, the new survival-horror sequel to the fan-favorite The Forest, will be in players’ hands soon, and Vancouver-based developed Endnight Games has dropped a new trailer for the game. This one mainly focuses on the Sons of the Forest’s co-op play, as we see players team up to build a shelter and fend off waves of mutants and other freaky abominations. That said, we also get a tease for one of the new caves you’ll be exploring in the game. You can check out the trailer for yourself, below.
Sons of the Forest has suffered a number of delays since being announced, and while the game’s current February date seems to be sticking, it’s now being labeled an early access release. Here’s what Endnight had to say about the switch to early access.
“It’s been a long journey since we first started Sons of The Forest development and it’s grown into the biggest most complex game we have ever made. There is still so much more we want to add; items, new mechanics, gameplay balance and more. We didn’t want to delay again so have instead decided to involve the community in the continued development of this project and keep our February release date but instead release in Early Access. […] The Forest turned out to be a massive success, due mostly to the community and the suggestions, feedback, and bug reports the players shared with us. We are really excited and hope that players want to come on this new journey with us to make this the ultimate survival horror simulator.”
