Black Tabby Games’ surprise horror game hit celebrates a sales milestone with a big new update that adds new dialogue, music, and more.
The update, out now, comes as the surreal and inventive visual novel game reaches 200,000 copies sold. Not bad at all for a game of its size and style.
Last October’s horror hit returns with a fleshed-out endgame, including new animations and more than 3,000 words of additional and restructured dialogue choices and conversations. Hear the fear in several orchestral renditions of climactic tracks recorded by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra.
Attempt to slay — or save, if you must — the princess with a 20% discount during the Steam Midweek Madness sale, the game’s deepest price drop yet. Or lean into creepy cabins and pick up Slay the Princess, Inscryption, and What Remains of Edith Finch for 10% off with the new “Cabins in the Woods” bundle. I don’t know about you, but I think that’s an absolutely stellar bundle of games.
Slay the Princess is one of my favorite horror games of 2023. Its subversive storytelling, great voice acting, and engaging, flexible story make it a standout in the visual novel genre, and one of the best modern examples of video game storytelling.
