However, the Bethesda RPG surely takes the crown for the variety and depth of the mods that have been created for it. Another new notable addition to the veritable feast of modifications available for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has been making the rounds.
If you loved school, have an academic bent, and take an interest in researching mysterious civilisations, then modder Zamio1 has just the mod for you. As spotted by PCGamesN, the 'Scholarship of Skyrim' lets you do just that. Uploaded at the end of July, but recently updated, the mod allows players to "become a real scholar".

Players will be able to pick a topic regarding one of three ancient cultures found in Skyrim – Dwemer, Falmer, and Ancient Nords – and research them in order to write a thesis on them. It sounds like a dream roleplay for those wanting to turn away from the magic and melee fighting and get all scholarly instead, journeying across Tamriel to conduct academic research.
The leveling mechanics are centered around writing better books and becoming a master scholar. "You can write better books through research!" the mod's description page reads. "Research takes many forms, studying in the Arcaneum, collaborating with fellow scholars or exploring in a ruin relevant to what your topic is".
Mod users can conduct more research to boost Writing Level which in turn leads to a better book (as you would expect). However, new academics shouldn't expect to produce a great book from the off, but the more finished works produced the higher your Scholarship
