Part of the reason why Skyrim is still being played after more than a decade is because of its pretty huge world, which comes with a lot of content to discover. While it's not the biggest Elder Scrolls game in terms of map size — that honor goes to 1996's Daggerfall — it's still impressively vast. The vanilla experience alone can take many, many hours to complete, but there are mods which add even more and are sometimes on par with full DLCs.
Take «The Pride of Teia» as a recent example. As spotted by DSO Gaming, this is a custom expansion for Skyrimthat sounds mightily ambitious. For one thing, it gives players control of their own ship, which they can use to sail around the waters of Tamriel. But what makes this mod so worthy of note is that it also features six isles, two dungeons, and a ton of new wildlife, including some underwater life as well. This add-on was created by smr1957 and Tasheni, and it sounds like a very impressive way to extend the life of TES5. It's also based off the «The Isles of Teia» mod, created by Tasheni.
Skyrim Mod Lets Players Unleash Their Inner Scholar
There are plenty of modifications out there that add new things to Skyrim. These might just be small implementations, such as a new house, but things like «The Pride of Teia» go that step further, affording players the opportunity to explore brand-new locales. For those who wish to try this new fan-made expansion, the ship can be found in front of Dawnstar, on the coast, or behind Lonely Rock in the Isles of Teia itself. And for those wondering, yes, the ship is fully sailable. The description on Nexus Mods gives a quick crash course in how to steer, with a quick note that players must lift the anchor before they can sail away.
