Given how extensive the lore is in the Elder Scrolls series, there is so much for NPCs to talk about, be it current affairs or things that have happened in this fictional universe's past. However, there are still limits to the number of conversations that can take place, even in this modern era of gaming.
With Skyrim featuring many cities and NPCs, players are constantly hearing talk among the locals, some of which is directly related to the Dragonborn themselves. However, over time, gamers hear the same things being repeated over and over again. This can have a bit of an effect on immersion, even if some lines of dialog are considered classics now, but there are means to inject something a little different into the daily chit chat.
Skyrim Mod Turns Whiterun into «Pink-run»
As an example, Reddit user Alirue recently posted a TikTok video showing the player running around in Skyrim, specifically the city of Whiterun. Some text on the clip says that the game has been modded to feature «AI deep fake voices» and gives the guards some new lines. When approached, these trained protectors will utter some bizarre things, some of which border on conspiracy. For example, a couple of guards talk about the possibility of there being fluoride in the mead, and there's also a reference to George Orwell's 1984, only it's phrased as «year 84 of the 19th era.» One guard talks about how another is spouting problematic statements.
