Simon Pegg has joined the ever-growing cast of Apple TV+ and Skydance's latest animated feature film, Luck, which is set to debut later this year. Directed by frequent Disney collaborator Peggy Holmes, and written by Kiel Murray (Cars, Raya and the Last Dragon), the story of Luck revolves around the unluckiest girl in the world, Sam Greenfield, as she stumbles upon the never-before-seen Land of Luck. In the film, Sam must team up with magical creatures to turn her luck around. After initially being slated for a release in 2021, the film is finally set to debut on August 5, 2022.
Now, Apple TV has confirmed that Pegg has joined the star-studded voice cast of Luck that also includes Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg, Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O'Donoghue, John Ratzenberger, Adelynn Spoon, and Eva Noblezada, who will be voicing the protagonist Sam. Pegg will be voicing the role of Bob, a lucky black cat from the Land of Luck who accompanies Sam on her journey to find a lucky penny, hoping to keep a hold of some luck himself. Fonda will be voicing The Dragon, who is the CEO of a company called Good Luck, while Goldberg will voice The Captain, the Head of Security.
