Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama and his studio Bokeh have released a new trailer for upcoming horror game Slitterhead, exclusively to IGN.
The two minute trailer is full of beasties, baddies, and bloody murder as it shows off the eerie world players must navigate as they attempt to rid it of monstrous beings called Slitterheads. Bokeh also released a series of new screenshots from the game, which can also be viewed below.
"Set in the densely cluttered streets of Kowlong, filled with obscurity and chaos, this battle action-adventure game casts players as the Hyoki, an entity devoid of memory and physical form," reads the official synopsis. "His only motive is to eradicate the monstrous beings known as Slitterheads crawling around the city, disguising themselves as humans."
We see much of this chaos in the trailer, with Slitterheads both on the giving and receiving end of violence. It opens with somewhat innocent scenes of some of the environments players can explore but quickly devolves as we see a collection of strange events surrounding central characters.
It all kicks off when the first Slitterhead appears though, as we see one jump on a man in bed and send a spiked tendril into his forehead in what's presumably more than a bedtime kiss. Tight combat is also shown off, alongside the entire world burning and a demon motorcyclist, of course.
Slitterhead was announced way back in December 2021 but finally launches on November 8, 2024 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC. Its gameplay looks to blend Silent Hill, Siren, and Gravity Rush in a wild and wacky combo that looks perfectly at place in the world Bokeh's created.
