The Apple TV+ sensation Severance shocked and delighted viewers with some truly showstopping twists and turns toward the end of its first season. Chief among these was the reveal that Mark’s wife, Gemma, is not only alive but is working for Lumon Industries under the severed persona of Ms. Casey. However, in Severance season 2, this turn of events might not wind up being all that it seemed.
Dan Erickson, the creator of Severance, already confirmed a few theories regarding season 2, but there is still one concerning Gemma/Ms. Casey that has yet to be addressed, and it bears repeating. Together with fellow co-workers Helly, Dylan, and Irving, the «innies» of Lumon’s Macrodata Refinement division find a way to escape the confines of their company grounds and infiltrate the personal lives of their “outie” counterparts. What they uncover during their brief time outside of Lumon is the basis for the final episode of season 1, which generated some of Severance’s biggest unanswered questions so far. This is also when information regarding Gemma comes to light in a big way.
