Daedelic Entertainment has set a release date for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, confirming it's arriving soon, with a Nintendo Switch port planned for later in the year. LOTR Gollum is a prequel story and follows Gollum's adventures between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, with his search for the One Ring after Bilbo Baggins takes it.
LOTR Gollum is an action-adventure game, with a focus on narrative and stealth. There are lots of mighty warriors and wise spellcasters in the world of Middle-earth, and Gollum isn't one of them. In LOTR Gollum, the title character must rely on his agility and stealth to avoid those who would do him harm, keeping out of sight of creatures like orcs and elves. The biggest threat to Gollum is himself, as the player must contend with the darker side of his personality throughout the game, and their choices will have consequences throughout the story. Gollum's fate in LOTR Gollum will likely be unchanged from the original narrative, but the player's path may alter the kind of person Gollum becomes before his final journey to Mount Doom.
