Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet will be released worldwide on November 18, 2022.
The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release date was confirmed in a new trailer for the upcoming Switch releases, which is viewable below.
The trailer showed new Pokémon including the two new Legendary Pokémon, which are called Koraidon (exclusive to Scarlet) and Miraodon (exclusive to Violet).
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet were announced in February with a debut trailer showing the game’s three new starter Pokémon, or ‘Partner Pokémon’, as they’re called this time.
They are a grass-type cat Pokémon called Sprigatito, a fire-type crocodile Pokémon called Fuecoco and a water-type duckling Pokémon called Quaxly. It’s safe to assume the player will get to choose one of the three as they begin their journey in an unknown region.
Nintendo recently claimed that it sold almost 35 million Pokémon games during its last fiscal year ended in March 2022.
Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, remakes of the 2007 Nintendo DS titles, sold 14.65 million units following their November 2021 release.
And Pokémon Legends: Arceus, a new entry in the franchise which saw the series transition into a fully 3D RPG, sold 12.64 million copies following its release in January 2022.
Their success helped drive a record financial year for The Pokémon Company.
