Ninja Theory finally announced a release date for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, its long-awaited action adventure and follow-up to the 2017 hit. On Xbox Wire, studio head Dom Matthews revealed that its length is “similar” to the first game with a “focused narrative.” It’s also a digital-only release that will cost $49.99.
The decision will doubtless attract some discussion, especially following Remedy Entertainment’s decision to go digital-only for Alan Wake 2 last year. As for the length, HowLongToBeat notes that Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice takes about 7.5 hours to complete the story, while a completionist run requires nine hours. Of course, this can differ based on how leisurely one’s playthrough is, so time will tell how closely the sequel matches that.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 launches on May 21st for Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also be available on day one for Game Pass. Internal reviews reportedly project it as having a +90 score. Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime, check out some more gameplay here.
