A new trailer for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora has been released, giving another good look at the open world action set in James Cameron’s cinematic world. Avatar is set to release on 7th December for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Amazon Luna.
Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora casts the player as a Na’vi, but gives you a somewhat unexpected back story. While you’re a Na’vi native, you were an abducted Na’vi child that humans raised within their compound. When the humans left, the children were meant to be killed, but rescued by their teacher, spending 15 years in crysleep before waking up and stepping out into the wider world to explore. Then, with the RDA returning, and their leader John Mercer, you fight back against the invaders, both on land and on the back of the Ikram flying creature.
From this starting point you’ll have to effectively learn all of the Na’vi abilities and how to interact fully with the world, while being an outsider and without the grounding in Na’vi culture. You’ll have to gain their trust, even if you’re one of them.
The game will have new biomes, new clans and more to discover, as a new side story that exists alongside the films. In combat, you’ll have both Na’vi skills and weapons, as well as the training to use human weapons.
